About Us
Your gateway to the vibrant art, culture and creative voices of the Caribbean.
Caribalent is a nonprofit platform dedicated to celebrating and supporting Caribbean-born and Caribbean-based creatives. We amplify the region’s vibrant cultural expression through artist features, interviews, visual storytelling, and coverage of events across the Caribbean and its diaspora. By spotlighting art, culture and community voices, we create space for regional talent to be seen, heard and connected, on their own terms.
Rooted in values of visibility, collaboration and cultural pride, our work spans in-depth features on artists and cultural practitioners, lifestyle and heritage stories that reflect the richness of our diverse islands, promotion of regional and diaspora events, and the ongoing development of a hub for grants, residencies, and creative opportunities
Our Mission
To celebrate and support the brilliance of Caribbean creatives by building a multilingual media platform that showcases their work, connects them to opportunities and shifts how the world values Caribbean art and culture.
Founder's Story
Caribalent was founded in September 2020 by artist and designer Deon ‘Simone’ Green, born from a personal need to create the kind of space she once wished existed.
At the time, the pandemic had already taken a heavy toll on the Caribbean’s fragile creative sector. Exhibitions were cancelled, opportunities vanished and artists were left without platforms. In response, she launched Caribalent, a self-funded, multilingual platform built from both urgency and care. What began as a simple Instagram page quickly became a space of solidarity, helping artists stay visible, valued and connected during a time of widespread uncertainty.
“I created what I once searched for, a space where Caribbean artists could feel seen, valued and connected.”
Today, Caribalent is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to amplifying Caribbean creativity, fostering collaboration and bridging borders through art, culture and community.

What We Do
We amplify Caribbean creativity through a range of interconnected efforts that centre visibility, storytelling, and access.
Our work includes artist interviews, editorial features and essays that spotlight both emerging and established talent. We tell stories that move beyond the studio - diving into culture, lifestyle and heritage to reflect the lived experiences of the region and its diaspora.
We also cover regional and international events and maintain a growing opportunities hub featuring grants, residencies, open calls and other resources for creatives. Through partnerships with festivals, galleries, tourism boards and cultural institutions, we extend artist visibility and impact. Where possible, we translate our content into Spanish, French and Dutch to make our platform more accessible across the wider Caribbean.
