Caye Festival 2025: Santo Domingo’s Creative Heartbeat Returns

This July, the beating heart of Santo Domingo’s creative scene will come alive once more as Caye Festival returns to Ciudad Nueva , transforming its historic streets into a living canvas of art, music and community spirit.

From 18th to 20th July 2025, the festival will showcase the best of the Dominican Republic’s cultural vibrancy, with a programme that’s as bold and colourful as the city itself.

More than a Festival, it's a Movement

Born from the visionary Caribe Naranja initiative, Caye Festival is more than just an event, it’s part of a mission to establish the Caribbean’s first creative district. Here, artists, performers, entrepreneurs and neighbours gather to celebrate their shared identity and imagine new futures for their city.

The festival invites everyone, locals, visitors, families and curious wanderers, to explore pop-up galleries, open-air performances, creative workshops and installations that spill into the streets. Expect murals in the making, dancers on corners, musicians in hidden courtyards and a vibrant marketplace of Dominican-made crafts and design.

A Feast for the Senses

What sets Caye apart is its electric mix of art forms: street art, live illustration, spoken word, theatre, music and design all collide in unexpected ways. Wander from a live mural painting session to an experimental jazz set, or join a hands-on workshop led by some of the country’s most inspiring young creatives.

Food stalls and local cafés will fuel the festivities, offering everything from fresh empanadas to ice-cold jugos naturales , so bring your appetite for local flavour, too.
