FUZE Caribbean Art Fair Returns to The Bahamas, Showcasing Contemporary Caribbean Art

The fourth edition of the contemporary art fair takes place in Nassau from October 21 - 25, 2026, under the theme “Coming Home”.
The Caribbean’s contemporary art scene will take centre stage in Nassau, The Bahamas, this month as FUZE Caribbean Art Fair returns for its fourth edition, bringing together more than 100 artists and over 20 galleries, museums and cultural institutions from across the region and beyond.
Taking place from October 21 to 25 at Baha Mar, FUZE is the official visual arts component of the Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival. Since its launch in 2023, the fair has provided a platform for contemporary Caribbean art, connecting creative practitioners, galleries, collectors, curators, cultural institutions and audiences through exhibitions, conversations and opportunities for cultural exchange.
Exploring the Meaning of Home
This year’s edition is centred on the theme “Coming Home”, inviting audiences to consider home beyond its geographical meaning. Through ideas of identity, memory, belonging and community, the theme explores the connections that shape how people understand themselves and their relationships with the places they call home.

The theme also speaks to the experiences of Caribbean people whose lives and creative practices span multiple territories. For a region shaped by migration, diaspora and cultural exchange, home can represent a physical place, a shared history or a connection maintained across borders.
Through its exhibitions and installations, FUZE offers an opportunity to encounter the different ways contemporary artists interpret these experiences, drawing on personal histories, cultural identities and the changing realities of Caribbean life.
A Showcase of Caribbean Creativity
FUZE 2026 will feature a range of artistic practices, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation and multidisciplinary work. Participants represent more than 10 Caribbean nations, alongside contributors from the wider Americas, Africa and the United Kingdom.
Among the featured participants is Jamaican artist Charles Campbell, whose interdisciplinary practice engages with Caribbean history, identity and cultural narratives. Bahamian artists Lavar Munroe, April Bey and Antonius Roberts OBE will also participate, alongside Deborah Jack, a St. Maarten-born multidisciplinary artist based in New Jersey, and Bahamian artist Desmond Beach.
Their practices reflect the diversity of perspectives informing contemporary Caribbean art, from explorations of history and identity to multidisciplinary approaches that challenge conventional artistic boundaries.
Participating galleries and cultural institutions include TERN Gallery, The Current: Baha Mar Gallery & Art Center and Galerie Myrtis, among other regional and international exhibitors. Their participation places Caribbean artistic practices within a wider network of galleries, institutions and audiences.
Beyond the Exhibition Floor
Alongside its exhibitions and installations, FUZE will host panel discussions, workshops, artist talks, academic presentations known as Pulse Talks, and live art demonstrations. The programme creates opportunities for audiences to engage with the ideas, processes and perspectives behind the work on display.
Education and public access also form part of the fair’s programme. With support from the Baha Mar Foundation and Scotiabank, hundreds of school students from New Providence are expected to participate in educational tours, introducing younger audiences to contemporary art and the creative practices represented at the fair.
FUZE also extends beyond its Nassau programme through The Blue Floor Project, an initiative presented during Miami Art Week in partnership with SCOPE Art Show. The project showcases selected Caribbean contemporary art to new audiences, helping expand the fair’s international reach and visibility for the region’s creative community.
