In the heart of Kingston’s art district, a vibrant new mural has appeared, a powerful symbol of cultural connection, creativity and shared history. Titled One Beat, Two Nations, this striking artwork is the creation of celebrated Dominican artist Angurria. With bold colours and fluid forms, the mural transforms a city wall into a canvas where rhythm and spirit flow freely, capturing the essence of two Caribbean nations whose hearts beat as one.

The mural is no ordinary piece. It stands as a visual celebration of 60 years of diplomatic friendship between Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, a milestone that speaks to decades of mutual respect, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Through One Beat, Two Nations, Angurria offers a gift that transcends language, inviting both locals and visitors to witness the beauty that emerges when artistic expression bridges borders.
This collaborative effort was made possible with the support of Gabriel Shak Doñe and Keddan Savage, two creatives whose dedication helped bring this vision to life. Together, the team created more than just a mural; they crafted a visual anthem of unity, harmony and Caribbean pride.
As sunlight strikes the wall and colours dance in the breeze, One Beat, Two Nations reminds us of what connects us: our shared roots, our resilience, and the music that lives in our souls.
