
Creative Opportunities for Artists This March
As March unfolds, artists across the Caribbean and beyond have access to a new wave of opportunities to develop their practice, access funding, build international networks and explore new creative directions. The Caribalent Opportunities Hub features a regularly updated selection of residencies, grants, fellowships and open calls designed to support artists at different stages of their careers.
Below is a curated list of opportunities currently open to Caribbean and international artists.
Open Calls & Commissions
Georgetown Heritage Arts – Public Art Proposals. Artists and creative practitioners are invited to submit proposals for large-scale temporary public art installations in Georgetown, Washington D.C., with awards between US$25,000–$40,000 per project. Deadline: March 6, 2026.
Royal Caribbean Artist Discovery Program. This commission invites Caribbean-based artists to create murals that will feature onboard Royal Caribbean cruise ships. Eligible artists can receive commissions up to US$100,000, plus travel and accommodation for installation. Deadline: March 8, 2026.
Creative Residencies
Residencies give artists the gift of time and focused space to experiment and develop their practice.
Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program (USA): A year-long residency with a monthly stipend and opportunities for exhibitions and museum acquisition. Deadline: March 15, 2026.
Women@MIT Fellowship – A unique program supporting those whose work expands understanding of women in history, STEM fields, and related cultural contexts through research, art, writing or scholarship. Selected fellows receive a stipend for their project. Deadline: March 31, 2026.
Creative Process Residency – Greywood Arts (Ireland): Ongoing residencies in a historic estate ideal for artists in a wide range of disciplines.
Olepangi Farm Artist-in-Residence Programme (Kenya): An ongoing tranquil retreat for deep creative work and reflection.
The Ou Gallery Residency (Canada): An ongoing process-focused residency in nature, open to visual artists working across mediums.
Grants & Financial Support
Financial support helps artists turn ideas into reality without barriers.
Innovate Grant: Offers awards to one visual artist and one photographer, with additional honourees gaining recognition and community inclusion. Deadline: March 19, 2026.
Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant: Supports painters, sculptors, and artists working on paper with ongoing awards up to US$50,000.
Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant: An ongoing emergency aid (up to approx. US$15,000) for established visual artists facing critical financial setbacks.
